Microchip Technology Inc. ist ein US-amerikanischer Halbleiterhersteller mit Sitz in Chandler, Arizona. Das Unternehmen entstand 1989 durch eine Ausgliederung aus dem Konzern General Instrument. In dieser Zeit wurden auch die ersten PICmicros, darunter der PIC16C54, entwickelt. Die Aktien von Microchip Technology Inc. werden an der NASDAQ in New York gehandelt. Nahezu 100 % der Halbleiter werden in den firmeneigenen Fabriken in Tempe, Arizona, und Gresham, Oregon, produziert.
