Unternehmensbeschreibung

Die Halbleitersparte von RCA wurde zusammen mit den Sparten von Radiation Incorporated und General Electric in die Halbleiteraktivitäten der Harris Corporation integriert, nachdem diese 1988 auch Intersil übernommen hatte. Harris, ein Hersteller von Halbleitern, der unter anderem den IM6100 als Second-Source-Produkt fertigte, bündelte diese Bereiche zu einem umfassenden Geschäftsfeld. 1999 gliederte Harris die Halbleitersparte aus, die fortan wieder unter dem Namen Intersil firmierte. Anschließend verlagerte sich Intersil auf die Produktion analoger Halbleiter, während digitale Produkte weitgehend eingestellt wurden.
